Barnyard millet is called Shyama in Bengali, Moraiyo in Gujarati, Sanwa in Hindi, Oodalu in Kannada, Kuthiraivali in Tamil and Undalu in Telugu. The millet is tiny, white, round grain, bigger in size than semolina (rawa) and smaller than sago (sabudana).
