It is a minor pulse cultivated mainly in arid and semi-arid tracts of grown in pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and West UP along with considerable areas in Rajasthan, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Gujarat. Cowpea has many nutrients ~ it is rich in fibre, protein, iron, potassium, low in fat and calories.
