Red Rice Poha is considered a good meal for diabetics. It is used to make poha or Aval Upma, poha Idli, Poha Payasam, Poha Rasayana, puli aval (tamarind poha), Poha Laddus, patties, Fritters and Chuvada. In some parts of South India, poha is added to idli/dosa batter after soaking the ingredients to make them softer and fluffier.
